Legal · v1.0.0
Terms of service
Effective 23 May 2026
These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Core Media Group Ltd. They govern your use of CineForge and your relationship with us as a customer.
We’ve tried to keep them readable. If anything is unclear, email hello@cineforge.co.uk before you sign up and we’ll explain.
01
The agreement between us
These terms (the “Terms”) are between Core Media Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16877158) with registered office at 6 North Parade, Bath BA1 1LF, United Kingdom (“CineForge,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), and you, the registered user of the service (“you”).
By creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account.
These Terms incorporate by reference our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Cookie Policy. Together they form the full agreement between us.
02
The service
CineForge is a software-as-a-service platform that helps screenwriters develop story bibles, characters, scenes, and related creative materials, with cultural calibration for the launch cinema profiles (Hollywood Classic, Pakistani Drama, Indian Drama, Turkish Dizi) and others added over time.
The service is provided as it is described on our website at cineforge.co.uk. We may improve, change, or remove features over time. Where we remove a feature you actively use, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Brief outages for maintenance, deployment, or third-party provider issues are part of operating any modern software service. Where we cause a sustained outage that materially affects your subscription, see section 9 on liability.
03
Accounts and eligibility
To use CineForge you must:
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts in your jurisdiction. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to do so.
- Provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your account credentials confidential and not share them. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- Not create an account if you are subject to UK or international sanctions or are resident in a country subject to comprehensive sanctions by the United Kingdom.
We may refuse to create an account or terminate an existing account where eligibility requirements are not met. We will tell you why and, where possible, give you the chance to fix the issue.
04
Subscriptions, fees, and payment
CineForge offers a free tier and several paid subscription tiers. The current tiers, their prices, and what they include are listed at /pricing. Prices shown are in US dollars and exclude any applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax) which will be added at checkout where required.
Billing cycle. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance, depending on the cycle you choose. The first charge is made at sign-up; subsequent charges are made on the same day of the following billing period.
Payment method. We use Stripe to process payments. By providing payment details, you authorise us (and Stripe on our behalf) to charge them for the subscription you select and for any taxes that apply.
Failed payment. If a charge fails, we will retry it. If we cannot collect after several attempts, we will suspend access to paid features. Your content remains stored and is restored when payment resumes.
No refunds. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where refund is required by applicable law (including, in the UK, the limited statutory cooling-off rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013). You can cancel your subscription at any time from /account/billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not pro-rate refunds for unused time within a paid period.
Price changes. We may change subscription prices for new billing periods. Where we increase the price of your current subscription, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email. The new price applies to your next renewal; you may cancel before then if you do not accept it.
Free tier. The free tier is provided as it is without warranty. We may change its limits or withdraw it entirely with at least 30 days’ notice.
05
Intellectual property and ownership of content
This section is one of the most important in these Terms. Read it carefully.
Your content. You own the creative content you generate through CineForge — story bibles, characters, scenes, locations, and related materials. We claim no ownership interest in your generated content. You may use it for any purpose, commercial or otherwise, with no restriction from us.
License to operate the service. So that we can run the service for you — storing your content on our database, transmitting it to our AI providers for inference, displaying it back to you in the app, processing exports — you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, and process your content solely for those operational purposes. This license ends when you delete the content or when your account is terminated, except where we must retain something briefly to complete a backup cycle or to comply with a legal obligation.
We do not train AI on your content. This is a contractual commitment, not a policy choice we can revoke quietly:
- We do not use your prompts, generated content, or any other content data to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve any AI model — ours or anyone else’s.
- We do not maintain a training dataset or model-improvement pipeline that includes user content.
- Our AI providers (currently Anthropic and OpenAI) operate under zero-retention API agreements; they do not retain or train on your content either.
- We may use aggregated, non-content usage metrics to improve the service. These are statistical patterns of use; they never include the specific creative content you wrote or generated.
- If we ever wanted to change this position, we would amend these Terms with at least 30 days’ notice by email, and give you the opportunity to delete your content before the change took effect. We have no plans to do this.
Our intellectual property. The CineForge platform — including the cinema profiles, audience profiles, prompt templates, DNA library, cultural review checklist, underlying software, design system, and brand — is owned by Core Media Group Ltd and protected by intellectual property law. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the platform for its intended purpose; you do not acquire any ownership interest in it.
Copyright takedowns. If you believe content generated through CineForge infringes your copyright, email hello@cineforge.co.uk with the URL or location of the content, a description of the allegedly infringed work, and confirmation that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf. We will investigate promptly.
06
AI-specific disclaimers
CineForge uses generative AI models to produce creative content. You need to understand the following before relying on its outputs:
- AI output is for creative assistance only. CineForge is a tool for developing your own work. It is not a substitute for your own judgment, research, or verification.
- AI output can be wrong. Large language models sometimes generate content that sounds plausible but is factually incorrect, culturally inaccurate, internally inconsistent, or otherwise flawed. This is true even with our cultural-review and validation systems in place. You are solely responsible for verifying any factual, legal, cultural, historical, religious, or other content before relying on it or publishing it.
- AI output is not legal, medical, financial, or professional advice. If your project involves matters requiring professional advice (defamation risk, real-event depiction, legal procedural accuracy, medical accuracy, etc.) you should consult an appropriate professional.
- AI output may resemble existing works. Models are trained on broad corpora and may, despite our best efforts, generate content that resembles existing copyrighted works. You are responsible for ensuring your generated content does not infringe third-party rights before publishing it.
- The same prompt may produce different output. Generation is non-deterministic. We do not guarantee reproducibility of any specific output.
The cultural review checklist, audience calibration, and dialogue conventions built into the platform are designed to raise the quality of outputs. They are not a guarantee of cultural accuracy or appropriateness. Where cultural accuracy matters, consult someone with lived experience of the tradition.
07
Acceptable use
Your use of CineForge is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. In summary, you may not use CineForge to generate content that sexualises minors, promotes violence against protected groups, defames real people, infringes intellectual property, harasses or stalks individuals, or attempts to bypass our content controls.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the Acceptable Use Policy. The Acceptable Use Policy describes our enforcement approach and appeal process.
08
Warranties and disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CineForge is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not give any warranties, conditions, or guarantees, whether express or implied, beyond those required by law. In particular, we do not warrant that:
- The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure;
- The service will meet your requirements;
- Any specific output will be accurate, complete, appropriate, or fit for your purpose;
- Defects in the service will be corrected within any specific timeframe.
Consumer rights are not affected. If you are a consumer under UK law, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by this section. Specifically, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described; this section does not exclude those rights.
09
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability we cannot lawfully exclude. We do not exclude or limit liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law.
Subject to that, our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the service — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), under statute, or otherwise — is limited to the greater of:
- the total amount you paid us for subscriptions in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
- £100 (one hundred pounds sterling).
We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of business opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss of data, loss of contracts, or any losses arising from your reliance on AI output that turned out to be inaccurate, culturally inappropriate, legally problematic, or otherwise flawed. You are solely responsible for verifying the suitability of any output before relying on it.
This section reflects a deliberate allocation of risk between us. Our subscription fees reflect this allocation; if we were to accept unlimited liability for AI output, we would not be able to offer the service at the prices we do.
10
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy;
- Content you generate or publish using CineForge that infringes third-party rights or violates applicable law;
- Your use of the service in a manner not permitted by these Terms.
We will tell you promptly about any claim covered by this indemnity, allow you to control the defence (with our reasonable cooperation), and not settle any claim that admits your liability without your consent.
11
Term and termination
Term. These Terms apply from the date you create your account and continue until terminated by either of us in accordance with this section.
Termination by you. You may close your account at any time by going to /account or by emailing hello@cineforge.co.uk. Closing the account immediately stops access; we delete your content data within 30 days unless retention is required by law.
Termination by us. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if:
- You materially breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy and have not fixed the breach within 14 days of being asked (or, for serious breaches, without notice);
- Your payment fails and you do not bring it current within 30 days of being asked;
- We are required to do so by law, court order, or regulatory direction;
- We discontinue the service entirely (with at least 60 days’ notice by email and a full refund of pre-paid unused subscription periods).
Effect of termination. On termination: your access ends immediately; any unpaid fees become due; we delete your content data within 30 days (subject to legal retention requirements); sections 5 (your IP ownership), 9 (liability), 10 (indemnity), 13 (general), and 14 (governing law) survive.
12
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Where we make material changes — for example, to the IP provisions, the liability section, or the pricing structure — we will notify registered users by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The notice will summarise what is changing and why.
If you do not accept a material change, you may close your account before it takes effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Non-material changes (clarifications, formatting, fixing typos) will be reflected with an updated version number and effective date at the top of this page.
13
General
Entire agreement. These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Cookie Policy) are the entire agreement between us and replace any earlier discussions or representations about the service.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect; the unenforceable provision will be replaced with the closest enforceable equivalent.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a right under these Terms, that is not a waiver of the right.
Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights to a successor entity (for example, in the event of a sale of the business), provided the successor agrees in writing to be bound by these Terms.
Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control — including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, governmental action, fibre cuts, cloud provider outages, or pandemics.
Notices. We give you legal notices by email to the address on your account. You give us legal notices by email to hello@cineforge.co.uk or by post to our registered office.
Third-party rights. No third party has any rights to enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
14
Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising from these Terms, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your part of the UK (Scotland or Northern Ireland) where the law of that jurisdiction so allows.
We’d much rather sort out any dispute by email. Before starting formal proceedings, please email hello@cineforge.co.uk with a clear description of the issue. We commit to responding within 14 days and trying in good faith to resolve it.
